Myaquariumfish.co.uk is an online resource covering anything related to home aquaria.  I will also be including some blog posts covering my own tropical fish tanks.

I have been in the hobby for over five years now and it was a steep learning curve to start with.  Many of my first fish sadly died despite some extensive research from various books in the hobby.  Unfortunately these books did not cover topics such as the nitrogen cycle, proper cycling of the aquarium and the importance of water hardness for all types of freshwater aquarium fish.  I managed to gain experience through trial and error and some excellent tropical fish forums and now my fish are thriving.

I am creating this website in order to provide a guide to people who are first starting out with aquarium fish and also some buying guides for the huge array of aquarium equipment that is available out there for tropical fish enthusiasts of all skills.  My particular interest is in tropical freshwater fish but I also have experience in cold water fishkeeping and will hopefully one day branch out into marine aquariums.

Research really is one of the most important aspects in keeping a successful tank and not only enables you to maintain aquariums successfully (much of the skill is actually maintaining the water correctly!) but should also be a lot of fun too.
